Decide what must be verified before you go

Shanghai attractions do not share one booking system. Some museums admit individual visitors without a general reservation, some special exhibitions still require a booking or ticket, and large commercial attractions use their own dated-ticket and identity rules. Use this page to identify what must be checked before you leave the hotel.

Practical steps

Identify the venue before searching for tickets

Search using the complete official English or Chinese venue name and compare its address with your map pin. Shanghai has branches and similarly named halls. Save the Chinese name and address so metro staff, a driver or a hotel receptionist can verify it. Never choose a ticket solely because the photo looks right.
