Overview & preparation

What happens after landing

Expect entry checks, baggage collection and customs before you leave the airport. The exact route depends on the airport and your arrival.

Keep your documents ready

  • ✓Your passport, visa or entry basis, onward travel details and accommodation information.
  • ✓Any Arrival Card information required for your circumstances; use official channels.
  • ✓Follow immigration and customs instructions. Ask an official if you are unsure what must be declared.

After entry checks

  • ✓Collect your baggage, complete customs and find the arrivals area.
  • ✓Connectivity and onward transport are the next things to think about. Airport-specific decisions are in the arrival action guide.

Complete the Arrival Card before joining the final inspection queue

  1. Open the official form or your saved confirmation

Use the NIA website, NIA 12367 app/mini-program or the official port QR. Enter the passport details, inbound flight, arrival port, purpose and accommodation as requested. Use PEK/Capital or PKX/Daxing according to your actual flight, not the airport for your later departure.

  2. Check the submission, not just the filled form

Submit, then save the confirmation/QR offline if one is issued. Compare your name, passport number and airport with the original documents. Keep it available for the officer; online submission is not permission to enter.

  3. If your phone, number or internet does not work

Before the queue, ask the immigration-area staff for a smart terminal or a paper Arrival Card. Show your hotel booking so you can copy the address accurately. Say: 我没有网络,请给我一张纸质入境卡。 (I have no internet; please give me a paper Arrival Card.)

Watch for thisThe official form is free. The regular Arrival Card does not replace a temporary-entry application for a transit visit. Some traveler categories are exempt; ask border staff if you are unsure which form applies.
